Old Becomes New

Sometimes something new emerges from the old. On 01.01.2021 the time has come. The Brüning | Group starts with its new unit “waste paper”. Through the takeover of the company Schneider Rohstoffe GmbH & Co. KG, based in Buchholz in der Nordheide, a new element is added to the group’s portfolio. For the Brüning | Group, waste paper represents another interesting product that fits perfectly into the existing product range. The possibility of taking over an existing company in this field without having to start from scratch arose long ago.

The company Schneider Rohstoffe GmbH & Co. KG was founded by Anette and Martin Schneider. Now, 20 years later, they want to step back and slowly withdraw. With their many years of experience, the Schneiders have a lot of know-how in the waste disposal industry. They will therefore continue to accompany us after the handover period in the new year, which of course we welcome and appreciate very much.

The main focus of the company is the marketing and trading of waste paper on a national and European level, which means that in future we will have numerous marketing opportunities for waste paper in Germany and abroad. The company’s turnover in 2019 amounted to € 16.4 million with 100,000 tonnes of recovered paper. The material comes from major industrial customers and municipal collections, and we also purchase it from waste disposal companies within the framework of a cooperative partnership.

The site in Buchholz will be continued as Schneider Rohstoffe. Kerstin Meyer, who can draw on many years of experience in the industry, will act as the link between Schneider Rohstoffe and the Brüning | Group. She will be available to us with immediate effect to provide advice and support. She will be supported by Leon Trunkhardt, who completed his training in our waste wood unit and will now have the opportunity to prove himself in a new unit. The employees of Schneider Rohstoffe are Uschi Labahn and Sierra Palacios. They are all looking forward to their new tasks.

We are very excited about the new challenges and opportunities that the waste paper industry brings with it.
